Leave of Absence
- How to Apply
- If a student has to leave for more than a semester, he or she must submit an application for leave of absence (휴학신청서) to the Graduate School
(Online application via EDWARD system is not available for international students)
- If a student has to leave for more than a semester, he or she must submit an application for leave of absence (휴학신청서) to the Graduate School
- Period of Leave of Absence
- The period of the leave of absence must not exceed 2 semesters (1 year) at a time.
- Total period of leave of absence
- Master’s and Doctoral program: Must not exceed 4 semesters (two years)
- Integrated Master-Doctoral program: Must not exceed 8 semesters (four years)
- Application period (※ Please check the academic calendar for specific dates)
- Taking a leave of absence after paying tuition fee:
- Between the starting day of the enrollment period and the day that falls on 1/3 of the semester in which the applicant's leave of absence begins.
- Taking a leave of absence without paying tuition fee:
- Between the following day of the final exam and the day that falls on 1/4 of the semester in which the applicant's leave of absence starts.
- Taking a leave of absence after paying tuition fee:
Returning to School
How to Apply
Students who wish to return to study after their leave of absence must submit an online Application for Returning to School (복학신청서) via the EDWARD system during the designated period:

- An international student who stays abroad during his or her leave of absence must contact the administration office of the graduate school for the issuance of an admission certificate for visa application and re-entry into Korea.
Permanent Withdrawal
How to Apply
Students who wish to permanently withdraw from the university must submit a Permanent Withdrawal Application (자퇴신청서) signed by their thesis supervisor.
Refundable amount shall be as follows:

Between the thirty-first (31st) day of the semester and the sixtieth (60th) day | 2/3 of Full Tuition Fee |
Between the sixty-first (61st) day and the ninetieth (90th) day | 1/2 of Full Tuition Fee |
After ninety (90) days | No Refund |
Readmission
A person may obtain permission for readmission only once if a vacancy occurs in the normal quota.
However, if the person had been expelled as a punishment, he or she cannot apply for readmission.
