at Keimyung University
Welcome to the Graduate School at Keimyung University, a shrine of wisdom that shines forth over the world. Founded in 1899, Keimyung University has pursued the vision of becoming “a leading university of educational innovation that illuminates the region and the world through active participatory education and creative convergent research.” Based on this vision, our Graduate School was established in 1967 and, as of the 2023 academic year, has produced 10,121 master’s graduates and 3,053 doctoral graduates. Over more than half a century, we have continued to shine the “light of truth, justice, and love” toward both the local community and the global society.
We believe that the light we have shared has served as a guide to understanding human nature and restoring humanity, while also acting as a driving force for development across diverse fields such as arts, culture, economy, society, politics, and science. Furthermore, it has laid a strong foundation for nurturing truly capable individuals equipped with creativity and practicality to lead the 21st century in an era of globalization and informatization.
Today, in a rapidly changing world characterized by the accelerated circulation of knowledge and information, our Graduate School defines its ideal talent as a “Global SMART Professional” possessing five key qualities: professionalism, ethics, applicability, resourcefulness, and adaptability. By fostering individuals who embody these qualities through continuous specialized education and the development of research capabilities, we aim to contribute to the advancement of academic disciplines and the improvement of quality of life, while illuminating the path for future generations of scholars.
Our Graduate School is committed to providing the best possible educational and research environment for students striving for academic excellence. We endeavor to ensure that the time devoted to one’s chosen field of study is respected and recognized, enabling students to grow into future leaders. We warmly welcome all who seek to create new value together with us, and we hope that all visitors to our website will continue to support our Graduate School. As a “hall of learning that brings light,” we will fulfill our mission to contribute to the prosperity of our community and humanity as a whole.
Thank you.
Nam Chang-wook
