Restriction on Leave of Absence and Withdrawal Applications (4.1-15)

Due to the 2026 First Half Higher Education Institutional Basic Statistics Survey, applications for academic status changes (online applications) through the EDWARD system will be restricted as follows. Students who wish to apply for academic status changes are advised to review the following information carefully.


1. Restrictions
  A. Due to the survey, the following applications cannot be submitted through the EDWARD system during the period below

  ★ From April 1st (Wed) - April 15 (Wed) only in-person applications are allowed. If you wish to apply online, please submit your leave of absence application through the EDWARD system by March 31.

  ★ The deadline for leave of absence without paying tuition is March 30. From March 31, leave of absence is only allowed after paying tuition.

  ★ As tuition refund criteria and tuition credit criteria differ, please pay attention to the deadlines (5/6 of tuition refund available until March 30). 


    1) Leave of absence (online application)

    2) Withdrawal (online application)

    3) Change of academic records (name change, nationality, resident registration number, etc.)

  B. Leave of absence and withdrawal forms can still be submitted in person at the Administration Office.
  C. Academic status changes will be reflected after April 15, so applicants must check whether their changes have been processed after that date.


2. Restriction Period
   April 1-15, 2026

    ※ Students wishing to take a leave of absence or withdraw in April must submit documents to the Administration Office by 3pm Thursday, April 30.




3. Application Method during Restriction Period


  A. General Leave of Absence: Complete the application form (휴학신청서, attached below) and submit in person to the Administration Office. 

  B. Withdrawal:
    1) Complete withdrawal form (자퇴신청서, attached below).
    2) Consult with the head of your department, record the meeting results, and obtain their signature.
    3) Submit the application in person at the Administration Office.
    4) Check approval status in the EDWARD system after April 23 and apply for tuition refund (☆Very important)
  ★ Note: Applicants must check whether their academic status has been updated in the EDWARD system after April 15.


  C. Correction of Academic Records:
    1) Bring a certified copy of your resident registration (verification needed for change in name, nationality, resident registration number, etc).
    2) Apply in person at the Administration Office.

  ★ Note: Applicants must check whether their correction status has been updated in the EDWARD system after April 15.


4. Leave of Absence and Tuition
  A. Leave of Absence without Paying Tuition: Until Monday, March 30 ★Hard Deadline★
    ○ Starting March 31, leave of absence will only be permitted after paying tuition. Therefore, students who have not payed tuition and plan to take a leave of absence must adhere strictly to the deadline.


  BFull Tuition Leave of Absence: Until Monday, April 6

    ○ Full tuition will be rolled over to the semester of return (no tuition payment necessary upon return).

 ★ Note: From April 1-15, only in person applications are allowed. Those wishing to apply via the EDWARD system should do so by March 31.


  C. Half Tuition Leave of Absence: Thursday, April 7-Friday, April 24
    ○ Half tuition will be rolled over to the semester of return; the remaining half must be paid upon return.


  D. All Tuition Lost: After Saturday, April 25
    ○ Full tuition must be payed upon return.

  ★ Note 
    After March 30, leave of absence is only possible after paying tuition.



5. Withdrawal
  A. Date for tuition refund eligibility
    1) During Enrollment: Date of withdrawal application
    2) During leave of absence: Date of leave of absence application

  B. Refund amount based on application date
    1) Full refund: by Saturday, February 28
    2) 5/6 refund: March 1 – March 30  ★Important★
    3) 2/3 refund: March 31 – April 29 
    4) 1/2 refund: April 30 – May 29
    5) No refund: After Saturday, May 30

  ★ Note: Students wishing to withdraw in April must complete the application via the EDWARD system and submit documents after consultation by 3pm April 30. Failure to do so will result in the deletion of the application.



6. EDWARD시스템을 통한 휴학/자퇴 신청 가능 시기
  ○ Online applications via the EDWARD system for leave of absence/withdrawal will be available again starting Thursday, April 16.
