                                 Graduate School Graduation Self-Check Notice


A new Graduate School Graduation Self-Check program has been developed for graduate students to check their graduation requirements and current graduation status.

If there are any points that are inconvenient to use or need fixed, please contact the Graduate School Administration Team (580-6253, kmy1015@kmu.ac.kr)


1. How to Find: EDWARD system → Academics → Graduation → Pre-Graduation Evaluation → 대학원졸업자가진단


2. Date of Use: From September 1st


3. Graduation Self-Check

-The Graduation Self-Check shows the current graduation status. Final graduation status will be determined by the graduate school committee's review.

-If there are any points of contention in the graduation requirements, please contact the person in charge of that area.

Master’s Degree Program: 24 credits or more with an average score of 80 (3.0) or higher.

(For the Nursing Master’s Advanced Practice Nursing Program: 33 credits or more.)

Doctoral Degree Program: 36 credits or more with an average score of 80 (3.0) or higher.

Prerequisite Courses (for non-equivalent major)

Similar Major: 0-6 credits Different Major: 9 credits

(Required prerequisite credits can be checked in the EDWARD System under ‘View Student Information’)

Qualification Exams

Korean Nationals: English

International Students: Korean

(Passing Criteria: 60 or higher for Master’s, and 70 or higher for Doctoral and Integrated Program)

For substitution criteria and special courses, please refer to the academic guidelines.

Master’s Degree Program: 3 subjects

Doctoral and Integrated Program: 4 subjects

4th Semester: Thesis defense and final thesis submission

2nd Semester: Selection of thesis advisor, submission of application for Master’s thesis substitute

4th Semester: Enrollment in graduation thesis course > submission of degree thesis substitution requirements confirmation (finalized) > approval of completion.

Additional 9 Credits Apart from Graduation Requirements

2nd Semester: Submission of application for Master’s thesis substitution.

4th Semester: Enrollment in graduation thesis course > submission of degree thesis substitution requirements confirmation (transcript, course enrollment confirmation) > approval of completion.

Graduation Recital/Exhibition (Master’s)

Department of Music, Department of Fine Arts

* Please note that some departments do not offer thesis substitution or may require more than one substitution (requirements may vary by department). Be sure to check the Graduate School’s guideline on our homepage.

Language Proficiency
-only applied for international students-

Korean language program: TOPIK level 3 or higher / Passed KKPT (Keimyung Korean Proficiency Test) / Completed at least level 2 in Keimyung University Korean Language Center.

English language program: TOEFL iBT 80 or higher / IELTS 5.5 or higher.
